The Botox poll

Everyone I know seems to have had, or is thinking about botox. Personally, I use the less invasive method of a fringe, which my hairdresser tells me was the pre-botox solution. I haven't had botox because I am a hypochondriac and don't like injecting myself with foreign substances, particularly toxins, and cannot help recollecting that in the Twenties there was a fad for monkey gland injections which were supposed to keep you youthful; it turned out that many of the monkeys were syphilitic, as did become the injectees. Besides, when I look in the mirror, the line between my eyebrows isn't particularly what I see that depresses me, it's the dark circles and bags under my eyes.

But don't let me influence your vote. Cast your own, over there, on the right.

This baby don't botox. What cracks me up (or pisses me off) are the ads for Botox running in the States these days that say "Express yourself!" Botox injections actually inhibit facial expression.

But I'm not particularly lined on my forehead. If there were a non-surgical way to treat the jowls that are starting to sag though...

I'm afraid I consider injecting myself with botulism toxin right up there with surgical stuff. Yesterday it was reported that Kanye West's mother died after being sent home from a combined tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery. Sent home. It is my understanding that tummy tucks are major abdominal surgery and breast reductions are not minor stuff either.
When are women going to decide to not die for beauty?

maybe it's just that sparkly makeup stuff?

Oh she's such a panderer, she depresses me.

But I'll vote for any monkey the Dems decide to run. As husband so cogently put it back in 2004 when we were chatting about the primaries, "Well, there's George Bush...and there's anybody else."

I know a well-known man who uses botox - according to his partner, anyway. I'd love to tell you who it is but...
