Haven't had time to read the whole article, but knowing that the title Dr. will get me upgraded when travelling is the only thing that has kept me going over the past 7 seven years of my PhD. Now my passport expires next year and the thesis will be complete - I see this as destiny and await the well earned luxury of first class travel.

Poor Imran Ahmad!

Linda, should you ever have to suffer in this fashion for your art, please know that we shall suffer along in solidarity with you.

It's a dog's life, isn't it?

oh my gawd! i shall promptly tear up my manuscript if this is the hell that awaits me. and i'm that 1-1/2 american -- i could manage to squeeze into that seat, i bet. but not, of course, if it means going to Bali and being treated in that horrible manner.

now his book is on my amazon.co.uk list too.
