About me
Linda Grant is a novelist and journalist. She won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2000 and the Lettre Ulysses Prize for Literary Reportage in 2006. She writes for the Guardian, Telegraph and Vogue. Her latest novel, The Clothes on Their Backs was shortlisted for the 2008 Man Booker Prize. I've been a fan of his since I was 9 years old! I used to watch his 60's TV show and I had a huge crush on him. And his live shows are incredible too.
Linda..I've got to say that listening first to Billy Holliday and then Tom "throw your hotel room keys" Jones singing this song has got to rank, musically, as one of the most ironic experiences I've ever had. Mr. "It's So Unusual" singing My Yiddishe Mama?
Linda, as you know, my yiddishe mama was never "that dear little lady so old and grey", but I do miss her so. Both those interpretations made me cry. Thank you.
I've always had a soft spot for Tom Jones.
