What words are there to describe a friend who brings to your publication dinner, as a celebratory gift, a pair of Prada shoes? Which fit.
Fit to wear Judy Garland's ruby slippers is what I would say about that friend

Oh, my. Now, that's better than a bouquet of roses any day, isn't it? Flowers wilt. Prada is forever.
O-er! What a wonderful friend. But seriously, are you SURE they fit? Despite having studied your (very elegant) feet in the black patent D&G heels last night on stage at the Jewish Book Week event, I feel the Prada pair wld fit me better. Any chance you could put them on ebay sometime soon???(I am loving The Thoughtful Dresser which I bought, and you signed, last night. Wish we could have heard more from you during the discussion...BTW I am a fan and not a stalker!)
I heard Susie's book being read on Radio 4 late last year and loved it! How lovely!
You obviously have too many friends and need to farm this one out in our direction, thank you.
KILLER shoes Linda!
Just read about her in US Vogue this evening! What a lovely gift. Wear them in health . . .
Ah what a pity that some of us have arch supports, and have to learn how to be chic in flat shoes--even when very petite.
We do it. Lucy Sussex
Anonymous of the arch supports, indeed. Wish I could still wear those. It doesn't bother me so much if it is a 20-something sylph, but a woman more or less my age and shape - luck or training? I had shoes like that in about 1980 - not Prada but a good mark - but I can't wear them now with the arthritis. They bring back rather wild memories.
A friend found Pradas on our annual excusion to a society church's charity bazaar. Oh well, I'd found a cachmere coat in my favourite colour there, so I can't really complain.
