Has he never heard of hubris?
What do you mean "childish but?" It's definitely childish. It's undignified to boot. They weren't good losers, okay, but they can't even be gracious winners?
It's nothing to what I did when Bush got in his car to leave!
Oy.
Even his child thinks he's being childish!
Yeah childish but I get a chuckle out of the picture. Mark me down for a certain impishness myself.
So, when in his inauguration speech President Obama said "It is time to put aside childish things," it didn't apply to these things?
Okay, I'm afraid I'm going to have to call BS on this one. If you look at other photos of this moment it's pretty obvious from the context that it was before the ceremony had begun and he was just goofing around with someone in the crowd. I expect dignity and gravity from my government officials, too, in the appropriate settings, but for pete's sake, they're not robots.
I second StyleSpy. Rahm Emmanuel wa NOT making this gesture to Bush or anyone connected with Bush. He was horsing around with his former House colleagues -- Democratic House colleagues.
