Poll: Skirt lengths

Just below the knee the clear winner, there's a surprise.

Of course it's the most flattering length, it cuts the leg at its narrowest point, just before the curve of the calf. It elongates the leg and torso and hides bad knees.

And can I find an attractive skirt (that isn't brown or black or a parachute or 'waisted' below my navel) in this length? Nope.

Let's hope that this perfect length makes it back into the stores. Last weekend at Neimans, almost everything I tried on was 2 inches above the knee...which looks great on a 14 year old leggy girl but not on most women.

Trouble is, that length greatly depends on your own; the skirt in the picture for instance, would reach halfway down my calves (extremely unflattering).
I've found that if a hem hits about mid-thigh on the model, that is usually around knee or a bit below on me.

Ah, but hedera, you can hem your skirts. I'm 5'11" and can't make them longer...

I am OK with slightly above the knee (slightly) if I'm wearing tights and low shoes, or if it's a very summery look with sandals. But never for work.

Funny: I voted for on the knee, but I think I mean something between the two points. I'm only 5'3", and my calves are muscular and wide (i.e., most boots don;t fit) - and I find that skirts ending just below the knee accentuate the fact that my leg widens just below them, making me look shorter and frumpier... I find black opaque tights and a black on-the-knee skirt a much more flattering shape, if you can ever find such a thing, which is not so much, lately.
