The shortlisted authors for the T.S. Eliot poetry prize have been reading their work all week on BBC Radio 4. Make sure you listen to Sophie Hannah's sensational Pessimism for Beginners, here. I was transfixed in the bathroom this morning, rooted to the spot, listening to it.

Linda - I am trying to imagine what you were doing while "transfixed" - standing at the sink with your hairbrush in mid-air or lipstick poised over your lips?
Hah! That was splendid, thank you. I can see why you were transfixed. If R4 broadcast a poem like that in the Today Programme instead of Thought for the Day, I probably wouldn't end up yelling at the radio quite so much.
I'd quite forgotten about Sophie Hannah. I bought a collection of her poetry years ago and listening to that now reminds me of why I liked her so much. Off to find her book.
Thank for sharing:D
