Among other tips the Observer advises:
3 Do nude nails
You know how the old adage goes: when the It bag is bright, the nails must be light-er, pink. (Yes, we totally made that up just now.)
4 Read the Thoughtful Dresser
Hurrah for the extremely clever Linda Grant's latest book on fashion - a collection of essays and notions and fashion-related stories. It's not out till March, but why not pre-order at Amazon?
5 Buy a chunky necklace
The more noise they make - and the harder it is for you to stand fully erect while wearing them - the better.
Yes, why not?
The US edition will be published by Scribner, by the way, no date yet.
Hmm, other than reading your book, Linda, not much of that style advice seems geared to anyone over age 25 or size 2.
ReplyDeleteThough I do plan to be on the lookout for more Joan-ish silhouettes this spring, if I can tolerate the requisite foundation garments.
"Extremely clever" - well, WE knew that already...
ReplyDeleteWell I think you should have been number 1 not number 4 fer cryin' out loud..
ReplyDeleteWith regard to point 5 my style crush at the moment is Candice Bergen who looks wonderful when she wears multiple strands of chunky heavy beads often with a white shirt and dark trouser suit, and shes what in her 60's. Still looks amazing though.
