Lovely looking shoes - especially the great colour, fuschia is me. And so is the price! I was ready to dash straight out to my nearby branch of Clark's - then I read 'synthetic linings'. Oh dear, sadly, no.
I love it when Clarks' makes jaws drop. I'm convinced they are slowly taking over the shoe world, and I rejoice.
[Though I hate them a little bit for not selling their fabulous spectator-y peeptoes in the US last spring. Looks like Suzy might join me in grudge-holding!]
How lovely to hear from you all. They arrived this afternoon and they have a clever gel insert and concealed playform so they're not as uncomofrtable as one might think. Clever Clarks.
But mainly I'm into studded ankle boots at the moment.
During my Thursday evening first class flight from Las Vegas NV to Pittsburgh PA, I read the excerpt from The Thoughful Dresser printed in USAirways Magazine.
From start to finish it sure kept this guys attention. Look forward to the entire story!
Thanks for making my flight home an enjoyable one.
These look like the BCBGeneration sandals I am buying for my high school reunion the end of April (Macy's) - I can't find a pic of them online ANYWHERE. They are suede, same color, same heel shape, only sling back sandals with a gold jeweled embellishment on the vamp. They are called Flamingo - it said that on the box, referring to the color. $89 - I am waiting for them to go on sale and I think they are $69 now. The upper is leather.
To me they look quite comfortable! Compared to all the other monster heels that exist!
Haha! It's ok if you have soul sometimes girl!

Hi there, just discovered your blog via the lovely Faux Fuchsia, to whose blog I am currently addicted. I am thrilled to come across your blog as I read your book a while back and thought it was brilliant, looking forward to the next. I have long been a fan of Clarks, I like the look of suprise on people's faces when they ask you where you got your shoes/boots from; those pink shoes are gorgeous, I shall be making a pilgrimage to Clarks Oxford Circus asap ...Best Wishes Blighty
Just beginning to write about clothes as a prompt for recollection in oral history and loved 'the Thoughtful Dresser'. In fact have loved all your books. Clarkes are making really funky shoes which are comfortable - the man is correct, it's kosher bacon.
Love them! They'd be so good with my new blue-gray "little black dress." All the fuchsia shoes here in New Zealand have ankle straps, not so flattering on my legs. Note to self: keep looking...
Those are so pretty. I have a bit of arthritis and normally can't wear such heels, but they look cleverly constructed, if I need (rather than just want!) a sexy shoe.
Apart from from the synthetic lining thing - I'm a bit of a shoe snob and unapologetic - it gets the thumbs up from me. Clarks has joined the 21st Century. Who would have thought! And you can actually walk in them, not totter, but WALK. (Their winter boots weren't bad either)
Wonderful to hear from you, Linda! - and fabulous shoes indeed! I came across this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6maKiguF-vc&feature=player_embedded - and thought immediately of you and what you have told us of your mother. If the link doesn't work - go to Youtube and put in My Mother's Clothes. The book is on Amazon (by Jeannette Montgomery Barron)- reviews on .com but not co.uk as yet, so maybe only available in the US? All good wishes.
Ah-Mah-Zing! Would have never guessed Clarks in a million years.
Would love your site to become a Trendsetter (www.shopittome.com/trendsetters).
Also to tell you about our brand new Shop It To Me UK launch (www.shopittome.co.uk). Hope you'll give it a whirl! Please be in touch re: Trendsetters. Best, Tamra
Sigh .. beautiful colour, but totally impractical with a walking stick, sadly .. though I am now wondering if they'll go with the 1950's dress I'm hoping to make for a wedding next month... Damn you, Grant!!! :D
Just yesterday I was hunting online for an image of those brown Clark's sandals (the ones with the modest cutouts on the instep) that I seemed to wear for my entire childhood. No joy - and I'd love it if someone could direct me to one. But now, today, this revelation in shocking pink suede! Clark's? I can hardly believe it.
Hi Linda- Great shoes. I found the most comfortable pair of gorgeous high heeled sandals for summer- made by Cochlico.( "hairstreak" is the name of the shoe-they run a little small) So comfy- I have walked for hours in them- I got them in both colors. Also, I wanted to tell you to go ahead and wear your biker leather jacket! I am over 50 so I totally understand the complicated puzzle of dressing to match your "face-age" and loving your wardrobe pieces. I would wear the jacket with something softer -a sheer feminine blouse or classic trousers+ those fuschia heels. You'll see how the contrast can make the jacket work at any age. Then tell those who frown on a woman of our age dressing like that to *******!
you know what clarks is something magical ! ı just love clarks heels because they are SO COMFORTABLE ! and there are also some stylish ones !! PLEASE CHECK MY BLOG : http://imaginationagainstharmony.blogspot.com/
Wow. Clarks in the US do not have things like that. I looked at the UK site and loved the Gem Deluxe too. Sadly the US stuff looks very conservative and frumpy. :(
These are pretty damn foxy for Clarks. Two winters ago they did these GREAT knee high moccasin boots that were featured in a shoot in either Red or Easy Living. Did I buy them? Have I seen them since? (Even in the outlet at Cheshire Oaks??) Grrrrr!
It is very wondrous to see how red footwear for ladies can give a woman an instant lift in her confidence and spur on vibrant spirits. Her very thoughts came become more daring

Clarks North American HQ is around the corner from my office in Newton, MA. I may need to call them and beseech them to sell there in the US.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! What are you going to wear them with?
ReplyDeleteI love love love a concealed platform. Wore one today, in fact.
