Ah, yes, the girl who made Kate Moss look fat. I do think that might be Photoshopped a tad (not by our blogger, but by the pro-ana sites that pass it around) as even the other images of Kidd from that time don't have quite the hideousness in the upper arms or lack thereof. But frankly I think the more realistic ones look like hell as well, and I wish they hadn't been using a model who could literally inspire people to abandon nourishing themselves. Blech.
At least Kidd herself has since then rounded out into something less savagely depleted, and looks considerably better as a result.
The model is Jodie Kidd, and the original photo of her in Vogue which caused such controversy a few years ago was bad enough. The picture might have been photoshopped, I don't know, but she's put on quite a bit of weight since then.
I can confirm that this picture has been photoshopped (and is continually toted around pro-ana websites and blogs despite the fact that everyone and their mother knows it's fake).
I honestly don't understand the point of these photoshopped pictures that are always floating around the net. It's saddening because it lowers the shock factor when seeing people who are not this thin but close to it; unless people look like the photograph pictured here (uh, for most, physically impossible), they won't be considered sick.
I'm so glad to read that this was photoshopped. I didn't realize that this was Jodie Kidd. Jodie Kidd has been a wanna be polo player and as an ex polo player myself, you can't survive a game without some upper and lower body muscles.
eeew disgusting
ReplyDeletePlease please let that photo be photoshopped
ReplyDeleteOMG. Was she really that thin?
ReplyDeleteand of course seeing nothing odd in her appearance they booked her for a runway show... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteAh, I see they've booked the Bergen-Belsen alumni for this program...
ReplyDeleteI agree with cybill-please say that's photo shopped!?
ReplyDeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an advertisement for anorexia. Disgusting
ReplyDeleteEls
That HAS to be photoshopped. Please tell me that's been photoshopped.

ReplyDeleteI saw Jodie on television the other day and she looks infinitely more healthy than she does in this grotesque photo. Thank goodness!
